A weekend at Tangas
The allure of the sea, the mystique of Moreton Island, and a need to just get away from it all, led my group of friends and me to spend a weekend at Tangalooma Island Resort on Moreton Island. We ditched our regular routines and embraced the opportunity for a refreshing getaway that was nothing short of incredible!
Our journey began on Saturday morning as we hopped onto the Micat ferry, ready to cross over to the island. The sight that greeted us was sun-drenched aqua water that sparkled under the bright morning sun. A sense of excitement washed over us as we disembarked and strolled down towards our destination.

The walk to Tangalooma Island Resort was picturesque, with eye-catching sites at every turn. A beached sailboat stood as a testament to past adventures, piquing our curiosity and imagination.

On reaching our resort, we were heartily greeted by a stunning view of a tropical paradise – an idyllic setting that promised an unforgettable holiday.

Our first activity was diving around the famous Tangalooma Wrecks. Wreck diving is a thrilling experience! The underwater world teemed with life, each dive revealing something new, from the hidden wonders of the sunken ships to fascinating marine creatures.

As evening approached, we decided to unwind with some wines on the beach. The combination of good company, delicious wine and the soothing sound of waves lapping at our feet created an atmosphere of pure bliss. Watching the sun set over calm waters painted a picture too beautiful for words—an experience that truly touched our souls.

One unique feature of Tangalooma Island Resort is dolphin feeding which brought us closer to nature like never before. We watched in awe as these magnificent creatures frolicked freely in their natural habitat.

A day full of fun-filled activities had whetted our appetites so we grabbed some pizza for dinner – piping hot and incredibly delicious! We sat out under the stars and talked about the day.

The next morning we woke up to another beautiful day filled with sunshine and clear skies; perfect weather for exploring more of this island paradise.

A few of the group embarked on a helicopter ride around Moreton Island which offered breathtaking views from above—a totally different perspective compared to what we had experienced on land.

After creating countless memories and soaking in every bit of this unforgettable trip, it was time for us to bid adieu to Tangalooma Island Resort. As we headed home, each one of us carried back home not just souvenirs but also beautiful moments etched in our hearts.
In conclusion, our weekend getaway at Tangalooma Island Resort gave us much more than just picturesque views—it gave us experiences worth cherishing forever!
