Our girls, fishing, and friendly ducks
After what seemed like an eternity, we finally decided to take our girls fishing again. It had been a long, long time since we last dusted off the rods and set out on a fishing trip. There’s something incredibly soothing about the sea, which is why we were eager to share this experience with them.

Boat ready, and our Captain’s hats on, we left the marina. Our destination was nothing short of beautiful; we headed towards Jumpinpin, a well-known spot for fishing enthusiasts.

Once we reached there, it was pure bliss. The girls were excited and so were we. The day was filled with laughter, fishing and of course, snack time… lots of snack times! There is just something about the fresh sea breeze that makes everything taste better.

However, our perfect day at sea was interrupted as storm clouds began to roll in. Dark and ominous, they loomed over us threateningly. We knew then that it was time to pack up our gear and make a beeline out of there.

Not ones to let a little weather rain on our parade (pun intended), we left for Tipplers Cafe instead. Nestled amidst nature’s bounty, this place is known for its great beers, mouth-watering food, and one of Australia’s few pubs where shoes are optional. We settled in comfortably for a beautiful lunch - delicious meals accompanied by frothy beers.

We made friends with an unexpected, adorable duck over lunch; it waddled around us curiously while we enjoyed our meal.

Finally, filled with good food and fond memories of our adventurous day at sea, it was time to head back home. Although cut short by the stormy weather, our day had been nothing short of amazing!
All in all – from teaching our girls how to fish to making friends with ducks over lunch – it had been a memorable day indeed! This just goes on to prove that sometimes unplanned days can turn into unforgettable experiences if spent with family…and ducks!
